Have you heard about the new innovation in 3D printing that promises to revolutionize dentistry as we know it? With approximately four million dental prostheses are produced annually in just the Netherlands, this is a huge market lying in wait. Within the MultiM3D fieldlab TNO, Océ Technologies and NextDent are working hard to develop 3D printing technology that imitates the structure and colour of a real tooth as closely as possible.

We learned more about the technique that will potentially make a perfect smile available for everyone in the future, reduce medical costs, increase well-being and possibly even extend people’s lives. René van der Meer and Kateryna Filippovych, both Océ technologists involved with the project joined this week’s gathering to discuss it with us.
