In a design landscape where we have been moving away from focus on the product toward more holistic approaches and experiences, connectedness is omnipresent. Human experiences are not stand-alone events, nor are humans stand-alone entities. If the purpose of design is to improve lives, we should aim to design for users in the context of their whole humanness. But what is this “humanness”, and how does it affect design? You are invited to this collaborative daydream, in which we build Air Castles to playfully explore reality through imagination.
Charlotte Kuijpers is a design researcher with a love for the magical everyday. She is specialised in contextual experience inquiry for systemic change. After working on a variety of design projects that re-think the way we interact and consume, she continued to examine what makes us dream, wonder and feel.
