Did you know pirates used to extend their ability to sail by having a parrot that could sense when a storm was coming? What if we can create modern day parrots for modern day pirates? By doing research on human augmentation, Team HART tries to improve existing senses or even create new ones through technology.

HART developed a haptic sleeve that translates speech to vibrational patterns that can be felt on your skin. What are the opportunities for such applications? Are there any concequences for the future and what controversies can occur? Find out during the presentation and open discussion!

Together with 20 students, Team HART (Human Augmentation Research and Technology) envisions a future where the constraints of human biology dissolve, and new ways of experiencing the world arise. Team HART is challenging what it means to be human, so that we can become more than human.
