Grief is universal, yet the way we process it is far from that. The well documented behavioral patterns of loss can dramatically differ between individuals. Can we extract symbolic objects and actions, from personal stories of loss, in order to support those who suffer? Can design inform the loss-coping processes, and assist in moments of paralyzing grief?

Ismini Christakopoulou is an architect engineer and the founder of Minimuc Design Studio; an award-winning, internationally operating design studio, based in Eindhoven. Rooted in architecture, MDS’s mission is to deliver ‘being-proud-of’ and ‘love-to-live-in’ spaces and objects, while creating a supportive community of makers.
